Hey Mer-babes! This week seriously just zipped right past me, I honestly am not sure where I was for over half of it, but I did post a new YouTube video so check that baby out! We finally had some pretty little snow flurries yesterday, and I was jumping for joy. Who else loves snow? My only motivation to make it through Chicago's winters are faux fur coats and snow, therefore when there is no snow I rely heavily on faux fur coats (example A, B and C).
Fun Fact: A button on button-fly was undone during 75% of this shoot, which is why most of the shots are me facing away from the camera. LOL.

These high rise flare jeans are the pride and joy of my denim collection, not only do high rise flares make your legs look like skyscrapers, always a bonus, I embroidered them myself. This was such a fun and simple project but it really makes your denim standout from the crowd. I chose to embroider my favorite emoji, heart eye kitty 😻 duh, along with my name and a little mermaid tail on the back pocket. Sometimes I forget that my name is Dani, because I literally think in terms of Mermaid Waves 24/7, LOL having your name on your booty is a solid reminder to yourself of who you are offline.
Ok, I just want to clarify that I don't literally forget my own name, that is a figurative statement.
I paired the sweetest button-up with my magical, flared jeans. I love the classic blue and white stripe, an ode to my father who is the King (with a capital K) of blue and white striped shirts, you wouldn't believe all the ways one can put blue and white stripes on a button up. My favorite part of this button-up is the bow at the neck, cute much? Tops with built in neck accessories are the real winter MVPs, no need to put on a necklace or a scarf or anything. You're trusty top has already accessorized for you.
Pieces that fit you perfectly are the simplest way to look amazing, fit is a huge piece of the puzzle when putting together a look and so easily forgotten. I am totally guilty of loving a piece and buying it without trying it on; I hate trying things on at home and in store, don't ask me why, its just a thing. I just want to wear it when I am going to wear it for real! Often that means sacrificing fit, which can potentially harm the whole look. I am so crazy about the outfit, I am already planning on outfit repeating it for fashion week, but the biggest part of why I look so chic is because all the silhouettes FIT! Shocking right.
All a simple look needs is a statement piece and a good shoe, to bring it to the next level. In this look that meant a white faux fur coat, and a pair of floral booties. Statements coats are such an important investment especially if you live in a place like Chicago, wearing that same old parka everyday for 6 months will seriously put you in a funk. I think most cases of seasonal depression are due to excessive parka wearing, not the lack of sunshine or the cold itself.
Happy weekend to you babes! Have you gotten all your favorite ladies (aka yourself) Valentine's gifts yet? If not, head over to my Valentine's Day shop! I may love it even more than my Holla-day shop! Its that good.
May you have all the brunch this weekend. Cheers!
