I love sunglasses, I have about 100 pairs and my collection is still growing. Basically, you can splurge on one fabulous pair of designer sunglasses or you can have a different pair for each outfit. If you're like me you are going to go with the latter, so I have rounded up five pairs of sunnies all under $30. You could literally buy all five pairs and still have money left over!
I had the privilege of spending my Saturday morning at Scratch Goods getting completely pampered. I am currently obsessing over skincare, I am on a mission to rid myself of everything high-school including the acne. I have really sensitive skin so I have to be super cautious and use only clean and natural products that I know I can trust. That is why I am in love with Scratch Goods, their products are made in Chicago and everything is food-grade. Read my reviews below on their in-store services and their products. Services: I had a face treatment done and it was an absolute dream. They start with an oil cleanse to draw out all the bad oils and leave good ones in their place. Then apply a treatment to promote luxuriously long and full lashes and brows, yes please! The custom mask is definitely my favorite part of the treatment, you get to create a custom mask perfect for your skin. You can choose from 4 bases ranging in intensity, 4 liquids, and then some add-ins. I did a matcha mask with matcha (I'm addicted and I'm not ashamed) and a dash of honey, their matcha is from Spirit Tea a Chicago based tea company! After the mask they use a restorative oil to hydrate and replenish your skin, complete with the most amazing face massage. The women at Scratch Goods are so amazingly educated on skin, I walked out of there knowing so many new things about my skin and how to better care for it. I hadn't posted an all denim look in a hot second so I had to fix that. Cropped denim is huge right now and is about to be every where you look this fall but why should the crop stop with pants? I paired my Current/Elliot cropped jeans (shop here) with this cropped denim top (shop similar). I love the raw edges on both the pants and top, it makes this look super casual but still chic. An all denim look is made ever easier to pull off when you mix light and dark washes. I couldn't break the all denim theme so I wore these Marc Fisher LTD patchwork shoes (shop here on SALE). Remember these shoes from my prom look? These shoes are so comfortable I walked all around the city in them and didn't even complain once.
Track is so back for Fall. I have found my favorite track pants that I think your wardrobe needs this season. Pair them with sneakers or stilettos, either way you will look like a street style star. Get inspired by these track pants out in the wild, then shop my picks below.
I have recently fallen back in love with Pinterest, and have been updating all of my boards. I am constantly inspired by my finds so I wanted to share three mood boards I created for Fall 2016. Use these boards for outfit, dorm decor, or Instagram inspiration.
I love searching through my closet and finding hidden gems buried beneath this season's finds. This skirt was one of those that you dream about and then you find it and never see it again, until months later you see it on the sale rack. At that point you have to buy the skirt, I got this skirt back when I had long brown hair (about three years ago) and it is still as timeless and beautiful as ever. A tulle skirt (shop similar) is such a fun piece to have in your wardrobe, it is so whimsical and can be styled for almost any occasion. With the skirt I paired a floral printed top (shop similar), I love the delicate floral of the lace combined with the bold floral on top. Instead of a basic heel, I decided to give this look a little edge and wear a platform. These nude platforms (shop here) are such a cool shoe but the muted color makes them totally accessible. The combination of a tutu and platforms felt like the epitome of my style, one of the best feelings is finding a look that I totally feel like myself in.
White on white always gives me major resort vibes and is the perfect way to trick yourself into thinking you are on vacation. This vintage J. Crew halter has been one of my go-to pieces this summer. I snagged this top for $10, I love shopping for vintage pieces because you can find such high quality gems for such good prices. Another one of my favorite pieces is this astrological printed vintage scarf. I feel so chic when I have a vintage scarf incorporated into my daily look, whether as a belt, tied on a handbag or worn as a scarf. I paired my crisp white halter with some beige cropped jeans. These Free People flared jeans (shop similar) are definitely the new wardrobe staple, cropped jeans are going to be making it big this fall. I always cut off the hem of my cropped jeans giving them a raw edge and since I have short legs my cropped jeans are usually not so cropped. I finished up the look with Steve Madden (shop similar) heels.
We all know ath-leisure is everybody's favorite trend, sorry still not on board with leggings as pants. Athletic wear brands have really begun to step up their game passing up ath-leisure to full on street wear. I have picked some of my favorite dresses that will provide all the comforts of your favorite leggings but will have you looking like a street-style star. Pair any of these dresses with a booty and a leather jacket for fall, and walk out of that barre class like a true street style star.
This fall I am convinced that I will only be wearing pink. I am loving this dusty rose color for fall, it is subtle and chic and basically a neutral. This two-piece set from Topshop is my favorite purchase for fall so far. I love the top's (shop here) open back detail along with the belt, it is a total upgrade from the crop-top and shorts sets seen over the summer. The pants (shop here) are a wide-leg crop, which is so flattering because they hit right above the ankle and combined with the overall pinstripe, this set it a must. I totally wore this Urban Outfitters choker (shop here) in the last post but I have no shame that I am wearing it again, I told you it was versatile! To finish of the look I paired it with Princess and her puff (shop here) and a tan heel (shop similar).
Instagram stories took the world by storm when they came out and had everyone wondering, Instagram Stories or Snapchat. When Instagram stories first came out the views were high, and everyone began to abandon snapchat. Snapchat is my favorite form of social media, so I was not leaving it behind. I feel I am closest to my followers on snapchat, and they engage with me more there than on any other form of social media. As much as I love a perfect Instagram feed, Snapchat is the place to be authentic and show your followers the real you!
I won't lie, I think my snapchat stories are outstanding, they are authentic, funny, and guaranteed to make your mouth water. I get so many compliments and questions regarding my snap stories that I thought I would put together a little guide to killing it on snapchat. 1. The Good, The Bad, and the Hungry
This one is my goto. I love food and my snap stories show that. Below are some of my favorite ways to incorporate food into your stories. Although these are all photos the majority of these were originally videos!
Everyone loves a good before and after shot especially when its of pizza.
Fries + Pretty Filter = Instant hit. Bonus points if its on a FRY-day.
Make the food the star. A video of mashing avocado or perhaps an yolk break (personal favorite) will have your viewers on the edge of their seats.
2. Upgrade Your Selfie
No one wants to see you posing in front of your bathroom mirror 12 times a day, but a selfie video in front of a mural of spaghettios? Thats what the people want to see. I love videos because you can add in movement, like a hair flip or even a wink if you are feeling sassy.
3. Take Us on Vacation
Brag away. One of my favorite kinds of stories to watch are the ones where I feel transported. Let us listen to the waves crashing on the beach, show us the fun destinations you are hitting up. Being on vacation is the perfect time to take advantage of fun geotags! Place them on every couple snaps to remind people that you are having way more fun than them.
4. The Truth Comes Out
I love sharing my struggles on snapchat because it reminds people that I am your average 19 year old girl. Yes, I just ate some beautiful avocado toast and maybe I am having a killer hair day, but I probably just got avocado all over my new shirt. I love sharing a funny story or moment from my day because I really feel like my followers are my best friends.
Bonus Tip: I love giving my followers a sneak peek at what will be hitting my blog next. I try to organically include it as part of my story, such as taking a snap of the next post I am writing, or giving an first look during an outfit shoot. It makes them feel engaged and hopefully go out of their way to look at the latest content, instead of using snapchat as just another way to advertise.
Be sure to follow me and Snapchat to see these tips in action!
I support any trend that North West sports so I am obviously on board with the latest throwback trend. The slip dress is the latest 90s comeback and perfect for styling with your collection of chokers. Pairing your slip with a tee underneath takes it from sleepwear to day wear. I am loving this pink slip dress from Urban Outfitters (similar here and here), I love that it is knee-length and not too itty-bitty. The light pink color gives it major Cher Horowitz vibes which is always a plus. Instead of a plain tee, I went with this Urban Outfitters mesh tee (shop here). I never thought I would wear a mesh shirt, but I am already planning on buying this top in the three other colors. This gorgeous choker (shop here) adds a chic touch to this look, I love the ribbon paired with the stone and metal. This choker can be worn to dress up jeans and a tee or to add a little edge to an evening look. With this look I paired a chunky heel (shop similar here) to offset the delicate slip dress.
As a ballet enthusiast I am loving this latest trend, ballet inspired pieces have been making their way into stores near you for a couple seasons now, but this fall ballet is about to have its big fashion break. With soft pinks, tulle, ribbons, and comfy knits it is easy to fall head over heels for ballet inspired fashions. I have picked out some of my favorites, click the link below each photo to shop.
