Adventures

This weekend I visited the gorgeous Getty Museum in LA.  I honestly enjoyed the outside of the museum as much as the artwork inside, such an inspiring place full of color and drama! The photography exhibit completely blew me away, I highly suggest a visit. Now to the look, I paired this boho tube top by Sewn Still (never thought I would say I was wearing a tube top past 2008) with a distressed white jean and my favorite chunky heels.  Sadly, I couldn't bring my entire shoe collection with me so I apologize for being a shoe repeater, its embarrassing for me too.

I paired a delicate necklace from my Rocksbox (code: DANIXOXO for a free month) with a larger but still delicate feather necklace.  I loved pairing the contrasting lengths with their similar shapes.

My purse was so heavy it made my shoulder bleed #prettyhurts.

Heaven is a Place on Earth

While I am in LA I will be posting on here less than usual but will still be posting frequently on instagram so make sure to follow me @mermaidwaves.  I don't think I have ever been somewhere more beautiful than Malibu.  Each time you turn around it just gets more unreal.  Every morning I wake up to the sun rising over the ocean, this is not even real life!  One of my favorite things so far has been heading to the pool after a long day of ballet.  I paired my Alexander Wang X HM bikini with some cutoffs and a kimono for the perfect laid-back look to end the day.

I love the simplicity of this suit, it is so classic but super chic.

The Dress

First and foremost I would like to thank Instagram for getting my account back and running, I was a mess without @mermaidwaves.  Now onto more important things like this dress.  The midi tank dress has been worn by every Kardashian and other style icon of recent.  I have been lusting over one at every store and I finally got the perfect one for $9.  For a girl like me (short and shapeless) this dress does wonders, I appear to have major height and the dress slouches and fits in all the perfect places.  This dress can be layered upon or left uncovered for thousands of different looks.  For this look I wanted the dress to shine, I paired it with a sleek stiletto and a chunky necklace.

TTFN Chicago

I am back in culottes.  I am seriously obsessed with these weird gaucho-esque pants.  They are surprisingly flattering and make my ankles look outstanding.  Since yesterday was refreshingly cool (trying to be positive about this crazy weather) I paired my culottes with a boxy sweater and chunky accessories.  This will be my last post written from Chicago for the next month, I will be writing as much a possible and sharing my latest adventures!  I have a feeling MW and LA will get along nicely.

Major YAY for fresh blonde locks, I love a grown out look but there is nothing better than clean roots.  I went a little brighter for summer and feel like a total Barbie.

Summer Style

One of the best things about summer style is the ability to look laid-back and chic at the same time.  I paired a white oxford and some boyfriend cutoffs with a printed heel (see them at prom).  Shorts and heels will always be my goto for an instant confident boost,  your legs will never look better.  To match the slouchy style of my shorts, I left the bottom of my shirt unbuttoned for a chic crop top alternative.

This dainty necklace is from my Rocksbox, remember always use code DANIXOXO at checkout for your first month free.

Posing with my ice didn't work very well, I just kept eating.

Shirt - Gap
Shoes - New Look from Asos
Ice - Annette's in Lincoln Park
