NYE

Today is the last day of 2014 and one of the only days this year I could finally take a day off.   Welcome to my itty bitty bedroom where I will be spending my day and night! And yes, it basically looks this crazy at all times.
My outfit today consists of Target Pajamas and Betsey Johnson slippers.

I am drinking WTRMLN WTR, the perfect way to cleanse yourself of the past year.

Of course it wouldn't truly be a NYE look with out a little sparkle. I am wearing My Vintage Spirit earrings.
Check out my looks from 2014!

Farmer Fab

Today Mermaid Waves turns one! I am so excited about the past year and I can not believe how far my little blog has come.  I want to seriously thank everyone who has read my blog and supported me throughout this past year.  Now back to what matters, the clothes.
I am wearing overalls from Free People. The skinny cut of the leg helps make these more flattering.  I cuffed the leg in order to show my ankles which has a super elongating effect.

This striped button down is from Emma in Wicker Park.  I love the two pieces layered for an oversized look.
Sun hats in the winter are a thing.   Notice how the cutouts match the wall (I think of everything).
This necklace is stunning, it is from Erin Gallagher jewelry.  I took two of the necklaces and layered them at different heights, I can't wait to change up the length of the necklaces with different looks!

This was me pretending to play a sport.
 Confetti for the birthday blog!

Mermaid Waves x Style Moi

Merry Christmas my loves!  I have teamed up with Style Moi to bring you a fabulously festive look.
I love this furry bolero, it is the perfect way to add a classy and sassy touch to your look. I tucked a statement necklace into the coat to give a little peek of the necklace every once in a while.  The Bolero and Necklace are from Style Moi.

Skorts for life, am I right? They are the only way to pull off a skirt this short.  The plaid is a staple for Christmastime, also from Style Moi

I basically wear thigh high socks constantly, #1 on my Christmas list was socks from Free People because they are just too cute.  I love this black pair with ruffles on top.

White Christmas

When I imagined this post, I planned on taking photos in front of a big snow bank.  Today it was about 40 degrees, so this white wall had to do.  Obviously fashion "rules" are not my favorite and I am breaking a major one with this look.  But, I do not understand why I can't wear white in winter when winter itself is white!?
This bag is to die for, I haven't put it down since it arrived.  It is by Greg Michaels, since I am a major hoarder this tote is the perfect size for me.  This bag is Saffiano Leather and the inside has so many pockets!

This sweater is by Urban Outfitters, I love pairing off white with white and nude.  Another totally unexpected combination that works so well.  My jeans are also from Urban Outfitters.

My hair was way to soft and flat today so my mother made it look fabulous with Oribe's Tousled Texture Mousse!
Nude shoes are a must have but they are usually a snore.  I love this pair from Aldo, the pointed toe and mixed materials make these shoes pop!
I love this chunky necklace from Anthropologie.  It has so many different layers to it, it brings lots of dimension to the outfit.
These earrings are from my Rocksbox, they are so funky.  The earring is just the gold ball but the backing has the triangles attached to it!

Birthday Bash

If you follow me on instagram then you already know that yesterday was my birthday.  I had one of the best times spending my day at the Langham hotel with some of my best friends.
On one's birthday there is no such thing as over accessorizing or over dressing.  My faux fur top and sequin pants are from H&M, I bought both items with money from ONE babysitting job.  This top looks way more expensive than it is because of the boxy shape and all over pattern.  Similarly, the pants  fit very well and cut off right above the ankle making them look like they were made for me.
The Langham hotel was beyond beautiful and what a treat to be there at Christmas time!
Instead of a party hat I wore this DIY feather clip, so much chicer! My necklace is by Tarina Tarantino, again something  I have owned for around ten years and love to pull out from time to time.
HELLO HEAVEN! I would move into the hotel room I stayed in one second for this bathtub alone.
My natural habitat is on the floor with phone in hand (instagramming of course).
I have the most amazing friends!
The mom-tographer is in front of the camera for once.  Aren't we twins?!
Before we scarfed down three sundaes each the size of a small village.  At the Pavilion in the Langham Hotel.

I think this speaks for itself.
Again, nothing needs to be said.
In our matching pajamas from Target having way too much fun!

Pillow fights are very serious matters.

The beautiful glass kitchen at Travelle, love watching my food being made right before my eyes.
The Chuan spa was like being transported for weeks, but in two hours.  This is just a tiny peek at the most gorgeous spa and my favorite part of the entire stay!
